Maucher Jenkins has built a team of outstanding professionals, recognised experts in intellectual property law, science and technology, working across multiple industry sectors and legal jurisdictions.
Trainee Patent Attorney
PhD in Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London (UK); MSc & BSc in Petroleum Engineering, Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria)
Theodor joined Maucher Jenkins in October 2020 as a technical assistant in the Freiburg office. He is currently working towards qualification as a German and European Patent Attorney.
After studying petroleum engineering in Leoben (Austria) and Golden (USA), Theodor graduated with a diploma from Montanuniversität Leoben in 2010. He then worked for more than 3 years as a petroleum engineer for RWE Dea AG. In 2014, Theodor returned to research and pursued a PhD in chemical engineering at Imperial College London, which he obtained in 2019. After graduation, he worked as a chemical engineer in the research & development department at Borealis, a leading polymer manufacturer.
Theodor has experience in areas of mechanical and chemical engineering. During his academic studies, he experimentally investigated the phase behaviour of hydrocarbons in porous media at the nanometre scale with applications to shale oil and gas production and also gained experience with reservoir and fluid simulations. For his PhD, Theodor designed and constructed an apparatus to measure the phase behaviour of hydrocarbons using Raman spectroscopy. During his professional experience, Theodor worked on topics in the fields of catalysis, propane dehydrogenation and steam cracking among others.
In his spare time, Theodor likes to play squash, go running and read non-fiction books.
