First Class Masters degree in Physics, Cardiff University; LLB Law, Cardiff University; Distinction in Legal Practice Course; Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property



Richard advises clients on a range of Intellectual Property matters, both contentious and non-contentious, in the UK, EU and other foreign jurisdictions, with particular focus on trade mark protection, brand creation and trade mark portfolio management.


He has experience of dealing with UK and EU Trade Mark oppositions, revocations and invalidity proceedings for clients across many sectors, including financial services, food and beverage, entertainment and consumer goods. Richard has also recently advised a client in its large scale trade mark filing programme, liaising closely with the client to protect its brand throughout the world.


His litigation experience involves dealing with proceedings in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, Patents Court and he also has experience of dealing with High Court proceedings using the Shorter Trials Scheme. He also has previous experience in general commercial litigation and financial services regulation.


Richard qualified as a solicitor in 2016.


Interests outside work:


Richard enjoys skiing, surfing and playing golf.
