Andrew graduated from the University of Glasgow with an honours degree in Electronic Engineering (BEng) in 2014. Upon completing his honours degree he was accepted onto a PhD programme in electronics and nanoscale engineering.

 

His research focussed on the exploitation of polycrystalline diamond (PCD) thin films as a material for micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS). Subsequently, Andrew has experience with MEMS and semiconductor device fabrication and characterisation processes and has researched and developed intrinsic PCD micro-cantilevers for passive micro-rheology and boron-doped PCD piezoresistive sensors.

 

Andrew joined Maucher Jenkins in August 2018 and is currently training towards qualification as a Patent Attorney.

 

Interests outside of work:

 

Andrew maintains a passion for electronic engineering and enjoys spending time in the workshop. Andrew is also a published musician, a keen angler and enjoys rambling.
