Our Maucher Jenkins team in China attended the 10th China Intellectual Property Annual Conference (CIPAC) 2-3 September 2019. The event, hosted by the Intellectual Property Publishing Co., took place at the Hangzhou International Expo Center, China and brought together intellectual property professionals from China and globally.
The annual conference has an influential impact on the intellectual property industry in China.
CIPAC brings together leading individuals with focus on the trends and latest topics in IP industry, and offers fantastic networking opportunities to exchange ideas on an international level.
Topics under discussion this year included: articificial intelligence; IP development in economic globalisation; the latest changes and updates to Chinese IP law; overseas enforcement of IP law; the operation of Geographical Indicators in global trade; IP support in regional economic integration.
Our Consultant Alec Clelland participated in a panel session titled "Artificial Intelligence: New Challenges Faced by IP Law", and also delivered two speeches: “The Power of Reason” and a keynote speech “AI at the European Patent Office”.
