The session “British Innovative Technology and Smart Medicine Symposium” of the “2020 International Intellectual Property Application and Project Cooperation Conference” was hosted online on 17 June.
The session was jointly hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, the CIPPT Jiangsu Council, and the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area. They were joined among others by local government officials, representatives of Fortune Global 500 companies, and management from European and Asian cross-border industrial accelerators, incubators and start-ups.

This UK session comprised two speeches. One on certified access and channels by EU regulations for medical supplies and common pitfalls in cross-border technology transfer repetitively, as well as two roadshows on UK advanced medical projects and Oxford University innovation projects.
To give full play to the role of intellectual property in promoting and leading an emerging innovative economy, this meeting, with a focus on "intellectual property rights and innovation", aims at fostering an open market featuring fair competition, high-quality international and domestic players, and world-class commercial environment.
Handong Ran, Partner at Maucher Jenkins, was invited to address the audience online, with a speech on "Common Pitfalls in Cross-border Technology Transfer”. The speakers had a full exchange of views with online participants with regard to common issues in healthcare, life sciences, biomedicine and others.
