Date: 22 October 2020

Chambers UK has awarded a Band 2 ranking to the Maucher Jenkins team of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys. In addition, James Cross and Hugh Dunlop are both once again recognised as Band 1 practitioners.

Team-wide ranking

Chambers UK highlights that our team is well known for trade mark work and also advises multinationals and emerging companies on patent prosecution, commercialisation and protection. They identify our strength in advising on IP litigation in the courts.

We are particularly recommended for matters concerning fast-moving consumer goods, computer science, materials, telecoms and life sciences.

Work highlights include defending Qualcomm against claims of invalidity brought by Apple in Germany concerning three patents with a total estimated value of EUR57.5 million.

Client comments

"They have very deep knowledge of the subject matter and they really make the effort to understand our business from a commercial perspective."

The team is "very easy to talk to and able to explain technical issues to my level."

"They are able to give strategic advice on the spot, which is incredible," reports another interviewee.

Band 1 attorney rankings

Hugh Dunlop is singled out for his work assisting a range of technology sector clients with the prosecution and protection of their patent portfolios. He often works on matters with international dimensions.
