Maucher Jenkins starts partnership with HSA_funkenwerk – the start-up centre of Augsburg University of Applied Sciences
Maucher Jenkins are pleased to support the HSA_funkenwerk and its start-ups via consulting, lectures and workshops around IP topics from now on.
Founded as a career alternative, more than 50 % of the students at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences see the realisation of their own business idea as an option for their professional life. They receive support from the HSA_funkenwerk, the central point of contact for those interested in starting a business at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences.
Since 2017, an interdisciplinary team under the academic leadership of Prof. Dr. Norbert Gerth has been promoting the start-up culture at the university. Thus, the HSA_funkenwerk offers all students a comprehensive support program on the way to their own start-up.
To aid students in discovering the fun in innovating and developing new products and services, through lectures and workshops around the topics of entrepreneurship and innovation, project spaces for individual ideas, internships and project work in start-ups, a consultation hour for ideas and incubator and mentoring programs, the HSA_funkenwerk team accompanies, motivates and encourages students from the initial idea to the successful start-up.
With a success rate of more than 80 % for EXIST applications, the HSA_funkenwerk is considered a start-up hotspot in the Augsburg region. Only recently, the initiative was honored for its exemplary start-up support within the framework of the Stifterverband start-up radar. This puts Augsburg University in the top 25 % of its size nationwide.
"We see ourselves as a start-up incubator for our region. As an application-oriented university, start-up support is part of our DNA, along with technology and knowledge transfer," emphasises President Prof. Dr. Gordon Thomas Rohrmair.

Within the framework of the partnership with HAS_funkenwerk, we will offer individual consultations for start-ups as well as lectures and workshops on topics related to IP protection and building an IP portfolio. Thanks to this partnership, young founders in and around Augsburg will receive support as early as possible in all matters relating to patent protection and IP on their way to building an innovative company.
