Overview:
Ralf primarily looks after patent grant and opposition proceedings on the national, European and international level in the fields of software, microsystem technology, sensor technology, electronics, semiconductor technology and electrical engineering, in particular control technology and electric motors as well as medical technology. He also prepares expert opinions in infringement cases and for the purposes of challenging or defending property rights.
Ralf has been a European Patent Attorney since 2012. He has been at Maucher Jenkins since March 2016 and in February 2023, he successfully qualified as a German Patent Attorney.
He had a previous spell working for Maucher Jenkins between 2007 and 2012. Afterwards, he worked for four years as a project manager and application developer for a Freiburg software company. There, he mainly worked in a European consortium of companies on a research project for improving the maintenance of industrial plants, using a paper factory as an example.
Before joining Maucher Jenkins, Ralf worked for three years in the patent department of a German research and development site of a large Japanese company. There, he supervised the patent activities of all of the European sites and obtained valuable insights into product development and patent practice in an international and intercultural industrial environment.
