Overview:
Simon is registered as a German and European patent attorney. He advises clients in various fields of technology, with a particular focus on mechanical engineering, materials technology and the automotive industry.
Simon has experience in drafting national, European and international patent applications and in managing and prosecuting grant proceedings, opposition proceedings and nullity proceedings. In trademark matters, he has successfully handled various registration and opposition proceedings.
As of 2024, Simon is part of the Maucher Jenkins team. He previously completed his training as a patent attorney in a Cologne-based patent law firm.
Simon studied mechanical engineering at the Ruhr University Bochum with a research semester at the Technical University Munich and semesters abroad in Australia and the US. He focused on general mechanical engineering and the development of new materials for applications in all fields of technology, allowing him to quickly familiarize himself with a wide range of technical areas. After graduating, he joined the Institute of Plasma Physics at the Jülich Research Center, where he worked at the interface between physics and mechanical engineering. He was responsible for developing and characterizing new materials for the first wall of future nuclear fusion reactors. Simon rounded off this work as a post-doc with a research semester at the University of Oxford before entering the world of intellectual property.

Simon enjoys spending his free time with his family outdoors. He is also passionate about discovering new sports.
