Overview:

Dr. Andreas Geißler has been in charge of the Upper Franconia/Kulmbach office of Maucher Jenkins since 2022 and worked for our law firm from 2013 to 2020.

As a patent attorney, Dr. Andreas Geißler represents national and international clients in all aspects of patents, trademarks and designs, such as filing strategies, identification of inventions (“patent scouting”), drafting of patent applications, opposition and nullity proceedings, carrying out searches, drafting legal opinions (infringement reports), searches for workaround-solutions and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Through his studies and his doctorate in various technical fields (molecular biology, computer science), his work as an in-house patent attorney at a large Franconian automotive supplier and his many years of law firm experience, he has broad technical expertise and therefore represents clients with a focus on mechanical engineering, automotive engineering and medical technology , measurement technology, control and regulation technology, electronics, software-based control processes, optics, food technology, chemistry and biotechnology.

Due to his in-house activity with sole responsibility for a business unit at an automotive supplier, Dr. Geißler also has extensive knowledge of working in an industrial patent department. He can therefore offer well-founded and practice-oriented advice on dealing with employee inventor remuneration, for example in a group, the examination of IP clauses in customer, development and cooperation contracts, innovation protection tailored to the size of the company and the establishment of processes, for example for third-party patent monitoring.
