Overview:

Patrick joined the Freiburg office of Maucher Jenkins in August 2021 and qualified as German patent attorney in 2025.

Patrick graduated with a Master’s degree in chemistry at Freie Universität Berlin in 2017. He then conducted research as a scientific assistant at the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM), a German senior scientific and technical Federal institute, and received his doctoral degree in chemistry from Freie Universität in 2020.

Patrick has gained expertise in the synthesis and characterisation of nanomaterials as well as their application in life sciences. His research focused on silver and zinc oxide nanoparticles, their behaviour in an artificial digestion procedure as well as their formation or degradation as induced by biomolecules. He is particularly familiar with microwave-assisted fabrication of inorganic nanostructures and the non-destructive, simultaneous analysis of billions of nanoparticles by light and X-ray scattering methods.

Interests outside work:

As a passionate traveller and aspiring light aircraft pilot, Patrick Saloga combines his love for discovery with a fascination for technology.
