Trainee & Graduate Opportunities

Maucher Jenkins recruits outstanding graduates to train as patent and trade mark attorneys.

In September each year we take on a number of graduate trainees across our patent and trade mark teams in the UK and Germany. Our trainee attorneys will be bright and enthusiastic individuals who are looking for interesting, varied and challenging work, covering different technologies and industry sectors. We offer you a competitive salary and benefits, and provide the necessary training and support.

If you want to qualify as a Chartered Patent Attorney (in the UK), German Patent Attorney (in Germany) and European Patent Attorney, candidates should have a relevant degree with at least upper second-class honours. A PhD and/or experience in the industry would be an advantage. Once qualified you will become an Associate and will be encouraged to start developing your own client base, whilst working closely with partners and established clients.

To become a qualified Chartered Trade Mark Attorney you will start as a trainee, where you will be supporting some of the world's most recognisable brands. Once qualified you will be able to advise on a full range of trade mark matters, including searching, filings, assignments, portfolio management and infringement. Our litigation team holds an international client base and represents our clients in trade mark, design and patent matters, from protection of rights all the way through to enforcement.

Candidates should have the commitment and drive to deliver excellent client service, whilst studying for and passing professional examinations. We look for strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, commercial awareness and good communication and interpersonal skills.

The road to becoming a fully qualified chartered patent or trade mark attorney is undoubtedly challenging and will require your hard work and commitment. At Maucher Jenkins, we will provide you with a friendly and supportive environment to enable you to succeed.
