IP Audits can provide companies with valuable commercial insights. Find out more on what you will gain, funding available and how to best use the insights gained.
Our Partner, Dr. Fiona Kellas explains here what an IP audit is and how it can help businesses.
An IP audit is a detailed review of the Intellectual Property (IP) assets of a business.
An IP audit can provide a company with:
an understanding of their IP assets
advice regarding patentability
advice regarding freedom to operate
guidance on IP strategy and management
advice and guidance regarding ownership of the IP
guidance regarding how confidential information is handled
cost forecasting to assist companies in planning their budget
The UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) offers an IP Audits Plus Programme which is aimed at small or medium sized companies. The IP audit is typically worth up to £3000, with the UKIPO typically contributing up to £2500 and the balance being provided by you.
More information on the IP Audits Plus programme is here: UK IP Audits Plus Scheme
